This year we have a test production field of dahlias growing on our cut flower farm, Red Twig Farms. Our climate is perfect for growing the flowers and with the addition of some good compost to the soil they are relatively easy to grow. After a wet spring and early summer we got off to a late start, but the summer heat is paying dividends and now and we almost have more than we know what to do with. In early October my brother Josh is getting married in our greenhouse so I am sure that these beauts will make it into the bouquets.
Here are some photos of the flowers that are blooming right now. I am really liking the Peaches & Cream (upper right) and the Purple Pearl (lower right)
We ship….so contact my brother for some info. joshua@mccland.com
So happy I found your blog it is absolutely wonderful. I am completely inspired and especially by the living walls. Memphis could use some! I am transforming my yard this summer and this was such a treasure to see. You have a new reader and I am a floral designer with a passion for growing.
